The Old House |

The
Old House is a spacious family run private hotel standing in its
own half acre of mature grounds. It is a grade II* listed building
of special architectural and historical interest, the oldest part
having been built in the second half of the sixteen centrury. |

previous owner of the house was the famous Dr. Samuel Dale, friend
and biographer of the naturalist John Ray. |
Bradford
Street has 65 timber framed houses, a couple dating from the thirteenth
century. The street is identified with the woollen trade and the
wealthy wool merchants. |
The word Bocking was used to describe a distinct type of cloth. |
